The Guest Room is all ready. This project was really what kicked off #MamaMiasKitchenReno. I was so inspired after October in #highpointfurnituremarket that the #musicalfurniture act started a snowball effect in the entire house. This amazing antique door was imported from India and sitting in the back of @maisonwarehouse waiting for a place to be featured. The new bedding is comprised of #EuroShams and a #LinenDuvet from @annieselke the three accent pillows in fab fabric from @thibaut_1886 and a super fluffy accent pillow from @ugg. Swipe to see the nightstands that were up-cycled and #upstyled in #chalkpaint by @anniesloanhome in #graphiteandoldwhite. I left the Knobs natural to relate back to my antique door serving as a headboard. The Wood Beaded Chandelier is from my shop #MaisonWarehouse and adds just the right charm to my black and white theme. The before pic is back in my profile where you can see the Pink Barbie Room- it was cute while my sisters were still little and visiting, but they are all grown up now and needed a new retreat to reflect a more sophisticated style. We also changed the carpet to a great looking low pile mixed cut and loop from @loudounvalleyfloors. Nicole at Loudoun Valley Floors knows me well and how I like #novacuumlines 😜.

Charlotte Sorrill from This Charmed Home in Greenville, SC found an old dresser for her daughter's room and gave it a clean, modern look with Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan. She used Scandinavian Pink and sealed it with Annie's Clear Soft Wax. Charlotte started painting with Chalk Paint® six years ago when she refinished her kitchen cabinets. After a three week hiatus from the kitchen remodel (due to Spring Break- and the onset of Busy-Season) we are finally back at the kitchen with some renewed ambition to #giterdone The new exterior door has arrived, the new windows have arrived, the new flooring as arrived, the pendant light boxes have been set, the hood vent duct has been connected, and we have #drywall covering the the holes in the ceiling!!! No more staring at the upstairs floor joists! #hooray 🎉! The kitchen has been sanded and is now all taped off because the painters come to day to #spraypaint my walls and trim and hopefully get to the ceiling as well! At least this half will look fresh and clean before we start to demo the old window wall- we are just waiting for good weather for a few days before we open that exterior wall. It’s coming along finally! But you know what they say about the shoemaker’s children... it’s the same for the builder’s wife. This kitchen contessa is most certainly barefoot! 😂 stay tuned for pics of the painted kitchen!

#tempaper and #anniesloanpaint are my two “go-tos” when it comes to kids’ rooms. The Annie Sloan Paint can easily transform the mundane into extraordinary in an afternoon! No priming! No sanding! #truth The paint dries so quickly in 20-30 minutes and the wax is easily applied to protect your new paint job and leave a beautiful artisan finish that is immediately dry the to touch so little hands can’t mess up your project 😉. I painted the letters and the ores with #duckeggblue #napolionicblue and #purewhite to compliment the gorgeous rustic wood Tempaper- temporary wallpaper that is both durable and fashion forward with their amazing patterns and designs. It’s so easy to apply! Just peel and stick! It’s a nice thick vinyl material with a textured finish on many of the papers that make it just like the high end papers but at an affordable price. The best part is that it is also easy to remove when you want to change decor! It’s really a perfect fit for kid’s spaces because you can keep changing as they grow- but this pattern is amazing and can easily grow with my little boy into the teen years. I had this paper in a gray and brown color way in my shop @maisonwarehouse and I can’t tell you how many people came in and had to touch it to see that it wasn’t real! spray paint magic on an inexpensive metal side table from @amazon and a little satin ribbon love on the linen lampshades from @target really make some simple finds fantastic. The bedding, however, must always be fabulous! Some custom shams and duvet from @legacylinens and my favorite Seychelles quilt from Pine Cone Hill @annieselke - just a great combinations of textures and classic blue and whites and ivory in this coastal room. After a busy week at Market I came home to make some small steps forward on #mamamiaskitchen renovation and I painted! Last week we had the addition of the custom hood and the fab #honeybronze hardware from @topknobs, and some more temporary countertops that needed a little help from @anniesloanhome #chalkpaint! I put a base coat or two on the hood to prime them and then I painted my temporary counters with a new technique for faux marble. I think I really honed my skills this time. I painted a base coat of #purewhitechalkpaint and then used a straw to drizzle the marble lines along the surface. I then took my #paintbrush and went over my lines, then I rolled over them with a foam roller. After that, I used a damp paint brush to feather out and clean up the edges of the lines. Finally I sealed with two coats of #anniesloanlacquer. Our new windows and door are finally on order- so hopefully we can start the next phase. We have some more painting to do and of course- pendant lights!!! But that will have to wait till we get back from Spring Break. Enjoy this coming week of holidays and time with family! I will be posting some fun pics from N.C. where I’ll be doing some more projects while I’m away! Love & Peace to all! 💖🌷🐣🌷🐰💖

A few days in the sunshine ☀️ with our toes in the sand was a much needed break from the #kitchenremodel. Coming home and seeing the beginnings of our new kitchen was a surprise- even though I knew what it looked like, I just am still not used to coming in the door and getting this new glimpse of home. When I think of home it was the ole kitchen I expected to walk into. 😂 This week I’m sure I’ll get used it! While we were away out cabinetry hardware arrived! So that’s what’s next! It may be a short list of what gets done this week because we are still waiting on windows and a door, but new flooring samples also arrived @maisonwarehouse - so l’ll be bringing them home and posting pics to get your thoughts and likes! We are a dealer for @msistone_houston and they have just brought in some great new flooring products like Luxury Vinyl Plank that I’ve been using on a lot of my design projects. It’s the most family and pet friendly product and the wood effects are fantastic! Stay tuned as we keep moving forward in #mamamiaskitchen!!!

Hello Rehab Addicts!! So this is what’s been happening in #mamamiaskitchen this week! I promise to clean up a bit and take a better photo tomorrow 😂 (I hope). We now have a temporary faucet hooked up to our sink- dishwasher and garbage disposal are also installed! So now I don’t have to wash dishes in the laundry room sink upstairs- that makes me #sohappyathome !!! The new crown molding has been added- the hood vent is installed and the hood has been built out of MDF. We have not puttied or painted yet- but it’s on next week’s todo list because I can’t wait to DIY the painting- I bought myself a mini sprayer - I may test it out when I’m feeling extra confident in my skill set 😂🙌 #girlpower. I did use Annie Sloan Paint to DIY a faux marble on my temporary countertop- we have to wait to get the counters installed till the new windows are installed then the rest of the cabinets can finally be installed and the counters can be done. Sooooo ...I wait- but I’m not gonna look at ugly plywood while I wait! (See the how to video on my Maison Warehouse page) 😉😉
I’m super greatful to my #handyhubby for all his amazing work this week and for his carpenters who helped for one day. I keep saying “If we were our clients this kitchen would be done by now!” 😂 But that’s #DIY for ya! Next week we should have #cabinethardware from our new vendor @topknobs!!
